Album contains the autographs of President Rutherford B. Hayes, his cabinet officers, and members of the 45th U.S. Congress, collected between 1878-1879 by David C. Pinkerton of McConnelsville, Ohio during his appointment with the U.S. Treasury Department. With the album is David L. Pinkerton's [19 p.] typescript "Autographs of prominent political personalities of the 19th century," giving biographical information on the collector and the persons named in the autograph book.
